Introduction - Pentrefoelas is a fine example of an estate village. It takes its name from Foel-lâs, a nearby small hill, once the site of a simple medieval castle
Location – situated on the A5, 6 miles from Betws y Coed, Pentrefoelas is a tranquil village, which offers the opportunity to walk on well maintained paths whilst enjoying spectacular views of across the Snowdon range without the crowds of Snowdonia.
Walks - We actively promote 5 circular walks on public footpaths that begin and end in the centre of the village (two free car parks) which offer an opportunity for you to explore and enjoy walks from 2.5 miles to 9 miles. On route you can see wild flowers, beautiful ancient woodlands, birds and animals together with evidence of past times in the natural beauty of Hiraethog e.g. the Levelinius Stone of Llewelyn The Great and the Rabbit Park.
Enjoy our village - After your walk we invite you to stay a while in our village and enjoy a drink and refreshments in our Café/Shop, Tea Room, Chocolate House, a choice of pubs and restaurants or bring your own and use the Picnic Area. We also offer a choice of touring caravan parks, campsites and a number of Bed & Breakfast places. www.hiraethog.org.uk
