BISHOP'S CASTLE

Bishop’s Castle is a friendly, medieval South Shropshire town close to the Welsh Border with a fascinating architectural mixture. Although a very small town it boasts two breweries, good pubs and cafes and a host of individual shops and galleries and accommodation from country inns to campsites. And free parking! There are festivals throughout the year.

There is an excellent network of public footpaths from the town – we publish six leaflets of walks from the town centre, all downloadable from our website! The town is on the newly refurbished southern Shropshire Way and the Kerry Ridgeway, an ancient drovers’ route across magnificent upland into Wales. Click here for more information about the 61 mile BC Ring walk.
It is also only a few miles from Offa’s Dyke and the ridges of the Long Mynd and Stiperstones are to the north east. The new bcring offers five days of challenging walking.
