2011 Conference in Market Weighton

Walkers are Welcome National Conference 2011 was held in Market Weighton. The East Yorkshire town hosted our national event over the weekend of 22nd and 23rd October 2011 and a full programme of activities was arranged for both days. Please click here for more information.


2010 Conference in Kilsyth

Our 2010 conference took place in Kilsyth on Sunday Oct 24th 2010, and what a great occasion it was. Thanks go to the Kilsyth organising committee for all their hard work.

We hope very shortly to put up some photos and reports of the day. In the meantime the programme is still available here to show what you may have missed!

2009 Conference in Church Stretton

The excellent 2009 conference,'Our Present and Our Future', was held in Church Stretton on Sunday October 18th 2009. (For the programme, look here.)


2008 Conference in Prestatyn

Our 2008 conference took place on Sunday October 26th, in the north Wales town of Prestatyn.

Over fifty delegates were present, representing twenty-two towns and villages. We were pleased also to welcome John Lloyd Jones, chairman of the Countryside Council for Wales, Tom Franklin, CEO The Ramblers Association, and Beverley Penney, Director, Ramblers Wales.

2007 Conference in Hebden Bridge

The first Walkers are Welcome conference, held in Hebden Bridge on October 21st 2007, was a lively and stimulating event. Among other decisions, delegates present agreed to create the Walkers are Welcome Towns Network and the first committee for the Network was elected. Prestatyn offered to host the second WaW conference, to be held in the autumn of 2008.

28 - 30 September 2012
Ross on Wye Walking Festival - three days of walking in the beautiful Wye Valley area, with 13 walks ranging form the famous 3 Castles walk, completed in 2 days to a "Foodie" walk of less than half a mile. Other walks feature a visit to the "top of the world" or "through a hole in the wall" and a walk featuring the industrial past of the Forest of Dean. We finish with the ever-popular "Last cream tea of summer". Truly something for everyone.
